On 8th June 2015, the paper counterpart to the photocard driving licence was abolished and will no longer be issued by the DVLA. 
Motoring offences are now recorded on a new on-line database which you will be able to access, as well as share your licence information with others such as ourselves and hire car companies. 
Below is a step by step guide to help you obtain a summary of your driving licence record. 
What you will need: 
Driving licence number 
National Insurance number 
The postcode on your driving licence 
What to do: 
1. Click on the link to the DVLA website  
2. Type in your: 
Licence number 
National Insurance number 
Postcode shown on your current driving licence: 
3. Once all of your details have been entered correctly, you will see an overview of your driving licence 
To share your driving licence with another person, select the ‘Share your licence information’ tab at the top of the page. 
4. Click on the ‘Create a code’ button. 
5. You will now be shown a check code which is case sensitive. 
Pass this check code onto whoever needs it to view your driving licence. 
You will also need to provide them with the last 8 characters of your driving licence number. 
The check code is valid for 21 days and can only be used once. 
6. Alternatively click the link which says 'View, Print or Save your Licence  
You will then be presented with a PDF licence summary, which you can email or post to whoever needs to see this information.
